One of the best trailer i watched in recent time. Looks Tarantino-ish.

IPL-3 is the best of all the IPL's for me. Because, there was not even a single dead rubber match and semis-finalists were undecided till the last league match and more importantly Mumbai Indians were going great guns.

Everything went smooth till the finals and what i thought should never happen happened. Mumbai Indians losing to Dhoni's team. Well, the better team won and yeah the best team lost.. ada pongapaa..

And, here is to the man, who came to the field with the determination to win the match even after having 8 stitches in hand. You deserve the Cup more than anyone else. Dont worry Sachin, IPL ellam sappa matter, bigger things are waiting for you. like, scoring 100 centuries, 20K in ODi, 15K runs in tests, becoming american president.

Downloaded and listened to Goa, Paiyya, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya(VTV) and Aayirathil Oruvan songs. I am hearing these 6 songs in loop ever since.

All the songs in VTV were average except Hossanna which i liked instantly. But, lot of people said VTV songs are very good. I am confused, has the Brand ARR became so big that people started believing that all ARR songs got to be good. Or, are VTV songs too urban for me. Because even in the songs in the playlist i liked the Goa kuthu song and folkish Adada mazhaida song from Paiyya better than others. ennamo po..

PS. after Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya releases and i see it, i might like the songs better. But, the matter of the matter is I made a post with no matter at all.

Its year end time and every other sports, movie, politics website has a top 10 list of 2009. Here is my top 10. It has nothing to do with 2009, its my top 10 favorite english movies that i have watched. In alphabetical order,

1. Goodfellas
With due respect to Godfather, this has to be the best gangster movie i have seen.

2. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
The whole movie is chaotic with god knows how many characters, but you will love this movie.

3. Love Actually
I always have a thing for this multiple stories within a single movie. Because, each story will be 'to the point', no unnecessary dragging subplots. And the most important thing is, more the number of stories, more the number of chicks in the movie.

4. Raging Bull
If you read in some website that Rocky is the best boxing movie, believe me that website is fake. If you hear it from your friend, stop talking to him or her. This movie is the one.

5. Se7en
A story of 2 cops tracing a serial killer. Thrilling from start to the end.

6. Stalag 17
A story about a whole gang of 'prisoner of war'. The whole movie is a laugh riot.

7. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
For some reason, i believe that this is the greatest movie ever made. But, not many would agree. The dialogues and the background music are the best part of this movie.

8. The Man from Earth
If someone is not surprised after seeing this movie, i would be really surprised. Its that kind of movie.

9. The Shining
I was never a fan of horror movies and never will be, but this movie is more than a horror movie. If i am confusing you, stay confused, even i dont know what the second part of the previous sentence is suppose to mean.

10. The Shawshank Redemption
I think everyone would agree with this. This movie is the best.

Some other movies which are equally good as above listed movies. Rain Man, Back to the future-1, Die Hard-1, Godfather-2, Pulp Fiction, The Departed, Casablanca, Bobby, A Clockworks Orange, God Must be crazy, The Killing.

In the 1st Ind Vs SL ODI, India lost first wicket at 153. Anja Singam Dhoni came to bat at one down. Today, India lost first wicket for 4 runs. What happens, captain cool sends Gambhir at one down. India lost 2nd wicket for 19 runs. Dhoni again hid behind and sends in Kohli at number 4.

Have some guts/balls/whatever Dhoni.

This coming in at number 3 business is happening time and again and it will continue to happen.

I can hear some voices saying dont i have any work. Come on guys, its friday afternoon, weekend has already started.

A - Allu Arjun. Just want to share this indigestible thing i saw in credits. His name was displayed as "Stylish Star" Allu Arjun. There is nothing stylish in him. I might even accept that he doesnt overact but cant accept that he is stylish. No, on a second thought i wont accept that he doesnt overact. He does a hell lot of overacting.
B - Navdeep
C - Kaajal Agarwal - She didn't match to the high standards she set in Magadheera.

I am becoming more and more allergic to these words. I have been harassed and tortured by these 2 words for the past 5 years. All the steps i took to avoid these 2 words were in vain. டேய், என்னதாண்டா வேணும் உங்களுக்கு.

Advices to avoid these 2 words are welcome. You might even be rewarded if your advise works out. If you are also in the same boat as me, you can actually try something like.... ok.. nevermind.

Checking Google Reader has become almost waste these days. None of my friends are posting frequently. I am just thinking aloud about it.

Its been months since Ramak posted. He used to be the most active blogger in my google reader list who posts about anything and everything under the sun. I hope he starts posting again. But, there is always a chance that he will delete all his posts after some days.

Jagan is back to blogging after a long gap. expecting more posts from him in the coming days.

Vishnu is more like me, realizes suddenly that he hasn't posted for a month and posts something about cricket or last seen movie or recent happenings. Moreover, he has done enough heroics for the month and no international cricket match is happening now. So, it will be some days before he posts again.

Rizwan, once a frequent blogger has almost quit blogging now. Right now he is into kalaaichifying bloggers in their comment section.

Ganesh, the only techie blogger in my google reader, probably has run out of algorithms or he has decided not to share the algorithms that he reads or something is really keeping him busy in his workplace(probably a singapore chick in his office).

I wonder why Ajay made a post requesting everyone to change his blog title in their google reader, because he haven't posted anything since that post.

Someone has uploaded a video, mixing audio of Sivaji trailer with video clips from 'Incredibles' movie. Watch it to believe it. Audio and video matches perfectly. Looks like a very old video. But i saw it only today. Awesome piece of editing. worth a watch.



Just now realized, in last post there was a little bit on Thalabathy, now its Sivaji and previously some youtube clips from Rajinikanth movies, no full dedicated post. It would only be fair if i write a full post about Rajinikanth. Its coming soon.

Nadodigal is yet another movie about friendship. In fact, it goes a level above to say that even a friend's friend is a friend. The story is about 3 friends(Sasikumar, one guy from Ch-28, one guy from Kalloori) and the problems they face after helping the hero's friend to marry his girlfriend. As expected, in many scenes, someone explains what is friendship and what is not friendship blah blah. But, those didn't seem forceful only in some places. The entire sequence before the interval when Sasikumar's friend's girlfriend is kidnapped was very good. Overall, the movie is worth a watch.(I will save you the burden. The word "*friend*" comes 11 times in the paragraph)

Talking about portrayal of friendship in Tamil movies, it is always exaggerated or more cinematic. At the moment i can remember only 2 films which showed friendship in a likable and convincing way for me. One is Chennai-600028. The best part about Ch-28 is, the movie itself is about a gang of friends, but at no point it gets preachy with dialogues like "natpu romba punithamaanathu, friendship'na ennanu theriyuma?? velakkennainaa ennanu theriyuma??, " kind of dialogues. Ch-28 shows friends the way they go about it in real life. For me, Ch-28 is the most realistic movie i have seen for a long time. It is a classic in its own way.

Second movie is Thalabathy. Whatever i listed as unconvincing exists in this movie. Yes, it has exaggerated dialogues about friendship, too cinematic. So, what???? I like everything about this movie. But then, do you really need a reason to like this movie. And, about the lead actors, don't even get there,. the post is already long.
