"Take Initiative"
I am becoming more and more allergic to these words. I have been harassed and tortured by these 2 words for the past 5 years. All the steps i took to avoid these 2 words were in vain. டேய், என்னதாண்டா வேணும் உங்களுக்கு.
Advices to avoid these 2 words are welcome. You might even be rewarded if your advise works out. If you are also in the same boat as me, you can actually try something like.... ok.. nevermind.
Checking Google Reader has become almost waste these days. None of my friends are posting frequently. I am just thinking aloud about it.
Its been months since Ramak posted. He used to be the most active blogger in my google reader list who posts about anything and everything under the sun. I hope he starts posting again. But, there is always a chance that he will delete all his posts after some days.
Jagan is back to blogging after a long gap. expecting more posts from him in the coming days.
Vishnu is more like me, realizes suddenly that he hasn't posted for a month and posts something about cricket or last seen movie or recent happenings. Moreover, he has done enough heroics for the month and no international cricket match is happening now. So, it will be some days before he posts again.
Rizwan, once a frequent blogger has almost quit blogging now. Right now he is into kalaaichifying bloggers in their comment section.
Ganesh, the only techie blogger in my google reader, probably has run out of algorithms or he has decided not to share the algorithms that he reads or something is really keeping him busy in his workplace(probably a singapore chick in his office).
I wonder why Ajay made a post requesting everyone to change his blog title in their google reader, because he haven't posted anything since that post.
Someone has uploaded a video, mixing audio of Sivaji trailer with video clips from 'Incredibles' movie. Watch it to believe it. Audio and video matches perfectly. Looks like a very old video. But i saw it only today. Awesome piece of editing. worth a watch.
Just now realized, in last post there was a little bit on Thalabathy, now its Sivaji and previously some youtube clips from Rajinikanth movies, no full dedicated post. It would only be fair if i write a full post about Rajinikanth. Its coming soon.
This is not a review.
Nadodigal is yet another movie about friendship. In fact, it goes a level above to say that even a friend's friend is a friend. The story is about 3 friends(Sasikumar, one guy from Ch-28, one guy from Kalloori) and the problems they face after helping the hero's friend to marry his girlfriend. As expected, in many scenes, someone explains what is friendship and what is not friendship blah blah. But, those didn't seem forceful only in some places. The entire sequence before the interval when Sasikumar's friend's girlfriend is kidnapped was very good. Overall, the movie is worth a watch.(I will save you the burden. The word "*friend*" comes 11 times in the paragraph)
Talking about portrayal of friendship in Tamil movies, it is always exaggerated or more cinematic. At the moment i can remember only 2 films which showed friendship in a likable and convincing way for me. One is Chennai-600028. The best part about Ch-28 is, the movie itself is about a gang of friends, but at no point it gets preachy with dialogues like "natpu romba punithamaanathu, friendship'na ennanu theriyuma?? velakkennainaa ennanu theriyuma??, " kind of dialogues. Ch-28 shows friends the way they go about it in real life. For me, Ch-28 is the most realistic movie i have seen for a long time. It is a classic in its own way.
Second movie is Thalabathy. Whatever i listed as unconvincing exists in this movie. Yes, it has exaggerated dialogues about friendship, too cinematic. So, what???? I like everything about this movie. But then, do you really need a reason to like this movie. And, about the lead actors, don't even get there,. the post is already long.
Neela chaayam veluthu pOchu, dum dum dum dum
Dhoni vesham kalanju pOchu, dum dum dum dum
Even though i am sad that India is out of T20 WC, i am happy that Dhoni's stupid strategies and his form is questioned by the media.
11 runs of 23 balls against WI, sending R Jadeja against Yuvraj and more than everything asking England to bat first in the crucial match.
Dei Dhoni, you are not Captain Cool, you are Captain Fool....
The whole yesterday was like what they call in cricketing terms "Few very high-scoring overs, and then a wicket falls" kind. I had a very good lunch, came out of the hotel, and it was raining like hell. Once the rain stopped, my bike wouldn't start. It got wet in the rain. I had to push the bike a few meters with Saran sitting on it to make it start.
I dropped Saran in the house and went to meet a friend. Again, when i started back to home, rain was pouring like anything and my bike didn't start. This time my friend took the honors. She pushed my bike a few meters to make it start.
Time was 9 and any sane person would have headed home straight. But come on, it was Kalyan's farewell treat. I reached the pub all drenched and shivering. For once, there was no fiery discussion like what happens usually whenever me ramak and kalyan meet. Moreover, the music was too loud to have any discussion. After a couple of beers, we went for "tequila tequila"(Read it like Shakira shakira in hips dont lie song). Wow, it was too good that we went for 2 more shots. Kalyan started dancing. Yeah, then what, i too joined him. Couple of other guys also started dancing.
And, you all know that, yes,, my bike didn't start when we decided to leave. This time the bike was adamant, i pushed it, ramak pushed it, but it never started. "piss off guys" was the answer that my bike gave. Kalyan gave this excellent plan, I hold his shoulder and piggyback his bike. It was the worst thing to do at that time of the day, at that road when it is raining. Ramak told he is no way part of this plan. I told him, let us try a few meters, if it doesn't workout, we will drop the plan. But, ramak didn't agree. By that time Kalyan already removed his T-shirt and ready with one end of the T-shirt in this mouth and offered the other end to me. Kalyan, you are the man to look for in crisis time. Ramak would say, the crisis in the first place would be there because of Kalyan.
Finally, we left ramak and the piggyback thing worked out for around 150 meters. We were waiting in front of the hotel and ramak came there walking with a "unnayellam mithikanum da" kind of look in his face. As i said yesterday, "it was worth it machi". The keyword here is kick.
P.S> Ramak, i am waiting for a post from you with your version of the story.
The Man from the Earth
Super movie. The movie had less than 10 characters. The whole movie was shot in a house. Its not about whether you like the movie or not. Its not about whether you believe what is said in the movie or not. Its just the movie watching experience that matters.

Die Hard 1
Oyyale.. Action movie should be like this. How was part 2 and 3? Have anyone seen them?
Random.
Today is my most satisfying TT day. We were playing doubles. In the middle of the game the guy from opponent team asked me why am i not hitting shots. I told him that i have back pain. Eventually, we lost the match. I was leaving the TT room and a guy who was waiting for the next game, said that my team lost the match because i did not hit shots. Man.... i feel like God, I forgive them all.

All soldiers alert. Billa remake has released in Telugu. This is the first movie that i have watched alone in a theater. Not bad, the movie was good. They have followed the same technique used in tamil. Shoot a movie for 1.5 hours and run most of the scenes in slow motion and make it a 2.5 hours movie. appuram, indha ponnu Anushka, enna superA act pannuthu pa. She took it from where Nayan left in Tamil Billa.
Ramak, here is the scene which we were talking about in KVKD. ( if at all you remember what we spoke that day)
There was a person who was really frustrating me everytime by saying a certain thing which was a mere assumption of that person btw. The person knows that i/we really get irritated when that was said. Me being me, i kept ignoring it. I really got angry once when it was said, but i decided to let it go one last time. "You did a big mistake... you rubbed the wrong side of me... I will make you regret for what you said" and what not, punch dialogues were flying left and right in my mind. But i just gave a dry smile and kept quiet.
My idea was, next time the person says that, i would shut the person's mouth for ever. I know speaking of what would do that. I kept waiting for the person to talk about that particular thing/assumption. But, the person never talked about it. I even tried initiating a conversation on a related note and for a change this time that person ignored it. Maybe, the dry smile gave the person enough indication that i will really get mad the next time. kadaisila enna vadivel mathiri "dei sandaiku vaada, naanum rowdy thaanda"nu polamba vitutaanga...
Now, the person might never repeat. That is what i want. But, had i yelled at the person and then the person stopped saying that particular thing, i would have been much more happy. Some things got to be done the hard way. So, "when you wanna yell, yell. Dont wait"(courtesy: Tuco)
Talk about variety. The album Thalapathy has it all.
And you, Happy birthday again.
