Confused

It was last Tuesday. I was reading an article in cricinfo.com in my office. I saw in my monitor that someone is coming towards me. I turned back and found the person who sits next to my cube. He was about to ask something to me. He is seated next to my cube for the past 2 months. I havent exchanged a single "Hi" or "Hello" till now. He went ahead and asked

Him: When is the 2nd Test against Bangladesh starting?
Me: It is on coming friday
Him: Oh. You know, I am a regular watcher of this site(cricinfo).
Me: Oh. (I didnt know what to say next. So just stopped with that. I think he too didnt expect anything other than an acknowledgement)
Him: Ok, you carry on.

He left to his seat. He is a regular viewer of cricinfo. He could have very well gone there and checked the schedule. Why did he ask me then. Is it that i always have cricinfo.com in my monitor whenever he sees. No, it cant be. coz, Post-World Cup, i am not spending more than 10 minutes per day in cricinfo.

Or, is it that he indirectly want to mean "you didnt bother to say a 'Hi' atleast once to the person sitting near you for nearly 2 months, Ok, let me initiate atleast now".. hmm, No, i am assuming too much.

Or, am i making too much out of this nothing incident just for the sake of writing this post. hmm. could it be?. err.. ..I am confused.

From the trailer it looks like yet another movie on 'one man fighting for the society' from Shanker. Sometime back a story was doing the rounds, rajini goes around the world in an effort to find his 6 other look alikes. Thank god, that doesnt seem to be the story.

I saw Pokkiri(Tamil) movie in IMAX some 3 months back. It was during the time i was thinking about starting a blog. After seeing the movie i thought that review of Vijay's Pokkiri will be my first post. But starting a blog didnt materialize at all. Since i have started a blog now, i will write only a glimpse of what i was about to write that time, coz ts too late to write a review now.

Everyone would have known of this game of interpretaion(I dont know if this is the correct name). The game is like, there will be around 5 to 7 person, the first guy will say something in the 2nd person's ear, then the 2nd will say that to 3rd and the chain continues. The final person says loud what he heard from the previous person.

The same theory works for this movie as well. In the 80's kamal acted in a movie called "Kaaki Chattai"i. Rajini ulta'ed that and acted a movie called "Pandian". Namma goltu makkal modified it further and made a film called "Pokkiri".Not knowing all these, namma Vijay gave Lakhs to get the remake rights and remade that in tamil as Pokkiri. Hayooo, hayooo...

I never belive when people(vijay fans) say that vijay's films create records. But, now i do. Frustrated by Vijays imitation of Mahesh babu's mannerism, our Ramak became anti-vijay. Yes.. he made an open statement that he is no more a vijay fan. To prove it further, he even joined in "I hate Vijay" community in orkut. Its indeed a record.

Its been 15 years since i started watching cricket. It was during the 1992 World Cup i started watching cricket. In fact, i didnt have any other option, coz, all my cousins are hardcore cricket fans. Kapil Dev and Azhar were the only players in the tournament whom i have heard of. I came to know that Sunil Gavaskar, the only other player who i know has retired already some 5 years back. Only during the India Vs Pakistan match, i came know there is a player called Sachin Tendulkar got Man of the Match and he plays very good. Azhar was my cousin's favourite and so he was my favourite too. I asked this question to almost all my cousins. Is Sachin a better player than Azhar. 'No' was the answer from everyone. One cousin put it in a clear sentence. "Dei. Azhar vandhu namma Elangovan(enga area'laye periya batsman) maathiri, sachin vandhu namma chinnu(another cousin, plays good but not better than elango) maathiri. That explained everything to me. In the mean time India was expelled in the first round of the world cup.

I was never a big fan of sachin until the 1996 World Cup happened. After seeing all his beautiful knocks in that tournament, i was no more a azhar fan, i became a big fan of sachin. Then came the1998 season.Wow,he scored a centery in almost every alternate match. I became a bigger fan of him. I dont know how many times i would have switched off the TV, when sachin got out. I dont know in how many Sachin Vs Ganguly and Sachin Vs Lara discussions i would have got involved. Being said this and seeing Sachins performance for the past 4 years, am i really that big fan of sachin today??? His last significant performance to win a match for India was almost four years back. Ind Vs Pak match in 2003 world cup.

Let me ask some questions and see what would have been my answers 4 years back and now.
1. Who is the best batsman of current generation.
4 Years Back: ithu oru kelviya? Obviously Sachin
Now : Ennaathu? Sachina? Appo Ponting'a ennanu solrathu.

2. Why Sachin does not perform in big matches.
4YB: Didnt you see 1998 Sharjah Cup final against Australia. Isn't world Cup the biggest among all matches. World Cup'la sachin's performance/records therinjuttu pesuda vendru.
Now: No comments. About recently concluded World cup, lesser said the better.

3. Why does he act in so many advertisements.
4YB: Do you remember Minnale dialogue. " Ennala mudiyuthu odakkarein, unnala mudiyaati moodittu po". Similarly, "naanga matchla adikarom, athanaal ad'la nadikkoraom, unakenna?"
Now: Athaane!!! Why does he do so many advertisements?

4. In Test matches why doesnt he perform while chasing a target in 2nd innings.
4YB: When he scored that brilliant 100 against Pak in chennai, you guys were not able to score remaining 15 runs and win that match. Ellathayum naangale panna mudiyuma??
Now: ada pongappa..1st inningsla adikkave vazhiya kaanom. Moreover, he was booed in his own fort Mumbai, ithula naa ennatha solla.

I still dont have the guts to say I hate sachin,, but definitely i am not that big a fan of him i used to be.
I wanna write about one thought that always comes to my mind. Sachin announces his retirement, he plays his last match in Mumbai, he scores a martch winning knock(not necessarily a 100) and walks back to the pavillion to a standing ovation from the capacity crowd. Wow!!! Will that happen. Lets hope. yeah.. HOPE is the word.

Sivaji - The Boss Audio Review

Balleilakka. - SPB, Raihanah
Intoduction song of the movie. 2 thing struck my mind after hearing this. One is, Is SPB really aged 50+. He still has a magnificient voice. The same crystal clear voice which i heard in "Rakkamma kayya thattu" song, 16 years back. He is amazing. The other thing is, how come Rajnikanth can screw up all his recent intro song with those funny words. What does Balleilakka. mean, what does "arre arre arre" in Chandramuki mean and not to forget the "bbriiiiiiivvaaa.. dippu dippu" in Baba. I was like what the f**k when i heard these for the 1st time. The female voice in the song is pathetic, especially her pronouncation. Amma Raihanah, Tamil makkal mela apdi enna gaandu unakku. The song is good if not great. Take out SPB and it will be a very very ordinary song. Rating: 3/5

Style - Rags, Tanvi, Suresh Peters, Blazee
This is easily one of the most innovative song in recent times. Good use of multiple voices at the same time, especially when 2 of the 4 singers yell "style" in different pitch. Tanvi, the lady voice in the song have done a good job. I hated the song on first hearing, but it rocks now after repeated hearing. As far as the lyrics, the song is penned ultimately with only one motive, that is to glorify namma thaleevar's ishtyle. 'hero hero.. heraathii hero.. staro staro, nee super staroo". Rating 3.5/5

Athiradee - AR Rehman., Sayanora
My pick of the album. Will be the hit number in all the TV channels after the movie releases is my guess. I have this habit of finding similarities between songs and this time i cant resist saying that this song reminds me of "khalbali" from RDB. Any takers for this?? AR Rehman has this knack of singing high pitch songs and he has suceeded this time too. The other singer also have done justice to this great song. Both the singer's voice modulation is too good especially when they sing "Billah Ranga Bhashathaan, ivan pistol pesum bayshaathan..." Rating : 4/5

Sahana : Udit narayan, Chinmaye
Yet another melody from Rahman in the lines of "Munbe Vaa". Udit Narayan - why is he still there in tamil film music. He prounces better tamil in this song than his infamous "paruva illai'. Still, some other singer, may be Karthick would have done a great job for this good melody. A great song overall. Rating - 4/5

Sivaji - The Boss - Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Raqueeub Alam
Theme song. I doubt whether this song would have full fledged video in the movie. Might come in bits in build up scenes and may be in some chasing scenes. This fast number is surely gonna rock the theater whenever it comes. This suppose to be gethu/buidup song is spoiled by the funny lyrics, eventhough its entertaining. "Sachin adicha sixer thaanda, Sivaji adicha puncture thaanda... Singam kooda jujibi thaanda, Sivaji vaayil jilebi thaanda" Rating 3.5/5

Vaaji Vaaji - Hariharan, Madhushree
The song starts with a 15-20 seconds of serious music bit, but what follows is a lively duet sung by Hariharan and Madhushree. Hariharan's voice sounds as energetic as ever. My 2nd favourite song of the album. I hope Shankar doesnt spoil this song onscreen with his usual funny costumes for the hero/heroine. The mischevious lyrics adds more weightage to the song. 'Adadada kumariyin valangal kuzhandhayin sinungal, muranpaatu moothai nee..." Rating 4/5

AR Rehman have done a wonderful work. He has struck a good balance, its neither a full fledged rehman album nor a typical Rajini film album. But, it will definitely satisfy both Rehman and Rajni fans.

Verdict: The Boss is here to stay.

Finally, i have started a blog.
3 reasons why i started a blog.
1. 3 out of my 4 roommates have a blog. The 4th guy is too busy to write a blog. Now, its an ego problem if i dont have one.(eventhough the other 3 have better writing skills than me).
2. Time is onething which i have a lot. I am too free and i can afford to keep one conveniently.
3. Do i have any writing skill? let me check.
