Sivaji - The Boss Audio Review
Balleilakka. - SPB, Raihanah
Intoduction song of the movie. 2 thing struck my mind after hearing this. One is, Is SPB really aged 50+. He still has a magnificient voice. The same crystal clear voice which i heard in "Rakkamma kayya thattu" song, 16 years back. He is amazing. The other thing is, how come Rajnikanth can screw up all his recent intro song with those funny words. What does Balleilakka. mean, what does "arre arre arre" in Chandramuki mean and not to forget the "bbriiiiiiivvaaa.. dippu dippu" in Baba. I was like what the f**k when i heard these for the 1st time. The female voice in the song is pathetic, especially her pronouncation. Amma Raihanah, Tamil makkal mela apdi enna gaandu unakku. The song is good if not great. Take out SPB and it will be a very very ordinary song. Rating: 3/5
Style - Rags, Tanvi, Suresh Peters, Blazee
This is easily one of the most innovative song in recent times. Good use of multiple voices at the same time, especially when 2 of the 4 singers yell "style" in different pitch. Tanvi, the lady voice in the song have done a good job. I hated the song on first hearing, but it rocks now after repeated hearing. As far as the lyrics, the song is penned ultimately with only one motive, that is to glorify namma thaleevar's ishtyle. 'hero hero.. heraathii hero.. staro staro, nee super staroo". Rating 3.5/5
Athiradee - AR Rehman., Sayanora
My pick of the album. Will be the hit number in all the TV channels after the movie releases is my guess. I have this habit of finding similarities between songs and this time i cant resist saying that this song reminds me of "khalbali" from RDB. Any takers for this?? AR Rehman has this knack of singing high pitch songs and he has suceeded this time too. The other singer also have done justice to this great song. Both the singer's voice modulation is too good especially when they sing "Billah Ranga Bhashathaan, ivan pistol pesum bayshaathan..." Rating : 4/5
Sahana : Udit narayan, Chinmaye
Yet another melody from Rahman in the lines of "Munbe Vaa". Udit Narayan - why is he still there in tamil film music. He prounces better tamil in this song than his infamous "paruva illai'. Still, some other singer, may be Karthick would have done a great job for this good melody. A great song overall. Rating - 4/5
Sivaji - The Boss - Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Raqueeub Alam
Theme song. I doubt whether this song would have full fledged video in the movie. Might come in bits in build up scenes and may be in some chasing scenes. This fast number is surely gonna rock the theater whenever it comes. This suppose to be gethu/buidup song is spoiled by the funny lyrics, eventhough its entertaining. "Sachin adicha sixer thaanda, Sivaji adicha puncture thaanda... Singam kooda jujibi thaanda, Sivaji vaayil jilebi thaanda" Rating 3.5/5
Vaaji Vaaji - Hariharan, Madhushree
The song starts with a 15-20 seconds of serious music bit, but what follows is a lively duet sung by Hariharan and Madhushree. Hariharan's voice sounds as energetic as ever. My 2nd favourite song of the album. I hope Shankar doesnt spoil this song onscreen with his usual funny costumes for the hero/heroine. The mischevious lyrics adds more weightage to the song. 'Adadada kumariyin valangal kuzhandhayin sinungal, muranpaatu moothai nee..." Rating 4/5
AR Rehman have done a wonderful work. He has struck a good balance, its neither a full fledged rehman album nor a typical Rajini film album. But, it will definitely satisfy both Rehman and Rajni fans.
Verdict: The Boss is here to stay.
