Te
n things I'd like to do/have before I turn 35

1. A talkative wife. None of my family members are talkative. I am very bad in initiating conversations. Other members are not that good in it either. I always find my house to be a silent place. I want my house to be noisy. Now its too late to increase my conversation skills. So, the only way to make my house noisy is to marry a talkative girl

2. Pick a fight with a hefty guy in a bar and thrash him physically just because he verbally insulted a friend of mine who accompanied me. And, ofcourse end the fight with a punch dialogue.... I know.. i know, i watch a lot of movies and i am a proud filmbuff.

3. Have a separate room for myself with a expensive high end music system. Because, from my childhood days i wanted to own a good music system. But, what my parents could afford then was a outdated 'National Panosonic' tape recorder.

4.
Candle light dinner with my childhood crushes.

5. Better memory in remembering places. I have good memory regarding people, incidents etc. But when it comes to places i always fail to remember.

6. Play a 15 over match atleast once in a international ground. Doesn't matter if don't get a chance to bat. I just wanna bowl an over and beat the bat of a good batsman all through the over.

7. Better patience while answering my mother in phone when she asks the same questions repeatedly everyday.

8. More responsibility to me in family functions. I am the second youngest of all my cousins. I never get a responsible job during these family functions. But, i do enjoy lot of privilege of being younger than all but 1 cousins.

9. Jagan, Ramak, gayathri.. you got a company here.. I too wanted to be fit. Add-ons would be to look younger than 35 at 35.

10. Submit 2 patents.. !!! this is the limit.. i will stop here.

Things that i miss or i never had or i lack.
1. College/School life
2. Summer vacation
3. Singanallur Cricket League, Singanallur Football League, siruvani water
4. Punctuality
5. care a damn attitude.
6. clear eyes.
7.
Driving licence
8. Breakfast
9. wit

10. good hairstyle

Last Sunday i watched the Filmfare Awards function. ShahRukh and Saif Ali Khan hosted the show. They were really hilarious. Everytime they were on the stage, they made fun of someone or other from the film industry. There were some self-damages too. They didnt spare anyone. Everyone right from AmitabBhachan to Ranbir Kapoor was there in their hit list. It was nice to see such a award function which is totally different from the ones that happen in TN. In Tamil Award fuctions you can see nothing other than the host uttering heaps and heaps of praises on actors. Even if there were some mockery on actors, then that would be in the most lightest way possible.

I would love to see a tamil award function similar to the recent Filmfare. How would it be if Ajith is the host and makes fun of Vijay's remake movies or Vijay taking a potshot at Ajiths pot belly. Rajinikanth making fun of Kamals frequent kissing scenes or Kamal making fun of Rajinikanths multiple layers of makeup in sivaji. Wouldn't that be fun??

Will they??.. wont they???And yeah, its official now. The South Africa sucessfully choked again in the World Cup in the way only they could. They lost to India in the U19 World cup final.

Indian Cricket is going great guns this week. For a change the Indians did not stumble in the finals. There is something to do with the lucky as* Dhoni. Everything is falling in place for him.

By now you must have realized my desperate attempt to write this post with bits and pieces of some random crap. To keep up the tempo, here follows a random video. Watch the first half of this video..

P.S: Ramak, i haven't forgotten your tag.. i will write it sometime..

core dump + Fix - Not Working + Midnight + bugged up + Winamp->Add Folder(All Songs) + Shuffle + Karuthamma song = This post..

andhi neram vandha thalayellaam yeNNi paaru
aadu maata saerthu yengae veettil yaezhu paeru

aaru yengae aaru ada poadaa vetkka kaedu
mazhai vandha thaNNi oadum
maru naaLae vandi oadum
I surrender... Right now, i cant remember a better lyrics than this written for any song.

One of the singer in this song is Bharathiraja. That's really a news to me. On any other day i would have laughed if someone had said that Bharathiraja has sung a song. ..voila.. but not today.

Ponting stood his ground after nicking a ball to Dhoni. He caught an edge of Dravids bat, but after the ball pitched. Before his teammates started celebrating, he said that he hasnt taken the catch cleanly. That's good,fine.. appreciated. But the honesty didn't stay long. In the 2nd innings he grounded the ball in the course of taking a catch. But, still he went on to appeal. Again in the second innings he swore to umpire that Clarke took Ganguly's catch cleanly when Clarke's credibility is already at stake.

Having done all these, he comes out in the press meet and says Aussies played with spirit, sportsmanship, blah blah.. This is a typical case of "kekaravan kenayana irundha KR Vijaya Kondayil KTV theriyumaama".

Ponting went ahead and even asked "are you questioning my integrity?". .. hmm.. phew...Look who is talking about integrity.

Its once again evident that the Aussies become crybabies whenever they are pushed to the corner.

  • Mcgrath did it when he sensed that west indies might fightback and chase the target in 4th test in Antigua. He sledged Sarwan and most importantly got back what he deserved.
McGrath: "What does Lara's d**k taste like?"
Sarwan: "I don't know, why don't you ask you're wife"
A fitting reply from Sarwan i would say. Eventually Australia lost the test match. A killer punch it was.
  • Ponting did it when England were kicking the shit out of them in the 2005 Ashes. He childishly complained to the referee that England were very frequently substituting their players when fielding.
  • And now, they have did it again by claiming false catches, standing ground after nicking, complaining about Harbhajan to match referee.

Not to forget the poor Umpiring decisions by Steve Fucknor ooops. Bucknor and Benson. I don't know when was the last time Bucknor went for an eye/ear medical checkup. This particular comment in cricinfo says it all about the poor umpiring.
"If Steve Bucknor walks the streets of Mumbai he would not be alive after an hour."
A comment on a TV debate in India in the aftermath of the Sydney Test. The remark received warm applause
Albeit India played badly in their second innings, but their efforts in the first innings deserves atleast a draw which was denied by you know who all.

Overall, Justice, fairplay, integrity, sportsmanship was gangraped by Ponting, Symonds, M Clarke, Bucknor and Son of Ben(Benson).

Opinions and Points to ponder after my trip to Chennai last week.

  • Thalapakat briyani tastes atleast 10 times better than the Hyderabadi briyani.
  • Dosa/Pongal/Sambar in Coimbatore Annapoorna tastes better than Chennai Saravana Bhavan
  • Its totally unfair that people in chennai get to watch about a dozen tamil TV channels and hear around 10 FM's while we ppl in hyderabad are left with just 2 TV channels. But, for the moment, hydi ppl have the upper hand as no sports channel is there in their cable TV package. Fm radios are their ultimate source for Ind Vs Aus cricket match scores.
  • Some New year resolutions cannot last for more than 30 minutes.
  • 4 movies can be watched in a space of 20 hours.
  • Billa - Only style, no substance. Ajith does a ramp walk in every alternate scene. Nayan was the Cynosure of everyones eye - Fashion redefined. Didnt find the movie interesting as i have watched Rajini's billa many times and SRK's don already.
  • Kalloori - The screenplay was gripping. The casting was almost perfect. 2 songs were good. But, where is the story boss.
  • Oram Po - Bigil, Supply, Son of Gun.. if you wonder what, these are the name of the characters in the movie. Son of gun (villain) was good. A different movie.
  • Vel - The movie was not as bad as i expected.
  • There is lot of 'Virundhombal' to be reciprocated to my chennai friends from my side.
  • Hareef resemble inzy in this pic.. what say??

Do you guys read the "Quote,Unquote' section in cricinfo. Sarcasm, wit, anger, complaint, silliness,.. everything guaranteed.

"There are generally no reporters at our matches, either to see our team's performances, or my dimples."

Mithali Raj
, captain of the Indian women's team, bemoans the lack of media coverage of women's cricket

And, anyone who wanna speak in American accent, here is an ultimate video for you. Dont miss it.

Arsenal Vs Chelsea match was going on in the TV. Rizwan and Ramak were watching it. I was concentrating half in the match and half in the newspaper. Rizwan was throwing some of his wiki facts about the players to Ramak. To show his loyalty to the newly found football interest in him, Ramak was listening patiently to Rizwan. Ramak was supporting Arsenal and Rizwan was supporting Chelsea.(I dont know which team will ramak support if the match is re-telecasted). I wasn't supporting any team. Because, my usual constraint is to support the team which has the maximum players i know. But, I don't know more than 3 players each in Arsenal/Chelsea.

I am not following football very much these days. For that matter, i have never followed football very keenly barring my college days. Even during those days, i just make sure that i know the most familiar names. ManU was my favourite then just because i knew more than 7 players from that team.

My football ignorance was recently exposed when bhai said that Adriano is not even included in the playing 11 of Brazil. When its about football or F1, rizwan always has the last word. None in our room doubt his credibility if its about football or F1.(God only knows, ivan ennenna poi solli engala emathittu irukkano???)

Similar to my inability to choose between Arsenal and Chelsea, i have problems in choosing my favourite celebrity. Most of the famous celebrity rivalries mean very little to me. Because, i like both of them or hate both of them or i am not much aware of both.

Rajini - The Style Sizzler
Kamal - Master of all trades.
Both are the best in the business. i like both

Sachin - The Mumbai Maestro
Sourav - The Comeback Man
Believe me guys. Enakku nejamaave ganguly'a pidikkum.

Illayaraja - Isayin Raja
AR Rahman - Mozart of Madras
I like both.

Federer - Second to None
Nadal - Second to only One
I like both. But, i like Sania Mirza more than these two.

Hate List
Vijay - Remake Raja
Ajith - Father of flops errr. Godfather of flops.
MGR-Shivaji, Karunanithi-Jayalalitha, Warne-Muralidharan and the list continues.

hmm. EKAI..

"Hey man, How was your weekend?", my team-mate asked me. I thought for a second or two what to answer. My standard answer to this question is "nothing special". But today, I actually wanted to say "Fu*k you.. It sucked big time". Before i uttered something, he went on to talk about something else. I wonder what people expect us to do on weekends. Sometimes, i ask them back, what did they do. But, unlike me they always had an answer.

Last weekend was a total disater. Only me and rizwan were in the house. As usual, rizwan was glued to his computer whole day(Pottu game).
It was a very boring weekend for me. Slept, ate, watched TV. Did this 3 in all possible combination. Had a try at almost all the beds in our house. Killed some time watching cricket. Yuvraj Singh, the man. Is there anyone who can play the back-foot cover drive better than him?? with more power and timing?. Watched 3/4th of the movie Black. Amitabh was loud at times, but the movie was good. Has anyone heard of the movie "Pathavi paduthum paadu". I even saw that for 30 minutes. That sums up the story how bored and jobless i was.

The final relief came on sunday evening. Me and ramak went to office. Had a game of carrom, watched a movie and came back. Thank god.. the weekend ended.
You know what?.. Today is no different. I am again jobless and bored..

Jagan, Regarding my ATM review. I think its little too much to write a review of a movie which i watched in less than 1.5 hours. So, a small writeup of my thoughts. The villain vijay character was good. That was the only saving grace of the movie other than shreya-UF(for obvious reasons). Parthiban can be added to the list of ppl who vijay copies(rajnikanth, mahesh babu). I could see glimpse of 'Kudaikul mazhai' parthiban in villain vijay's character. Another thing, You would have heard ppl saying "machi, indha comedian'a paathale sirippu varuthuda". Same is the case with the title Azhagiya Tamil Magan.
Title' ketta udane chumma odharuthalla!!!
Infact, its not that hilarious as his next film's title - Kurivi. Everytime his movie bombs, he runs to Andhra border in search for remake rights. For a change, he hasnt done that this time. let us see what happens.

If anyone from Plot No. 43 is still reading, i would like to inform you guys that Ganesh's bed is the winner. "Padutha odane ennamaa thookam varuthu theriyuma???".

For once, i am writing something other than movies and cricket.

short int func(int a, short int b)
{
b = b + a;
return b;
}
Run Klocwork on this piece of code, you will get the following error
Line 3: Conversion from int to short int may cause loss of data

For those who are not aware of Klocworks, its a static code analyzer.

short int func(int a, short int b)
{
b += a;
return b;
}
Now, run klocworks on this piece of code and no error is reported.

Functionality wise, there is absolutely no difference between the 2.

b = b + a; /* Error */
b += a; /* Not an error */

In both the cases, 4 bytes are written into the variable 'b' which can hold only 2 bytes. But, why no error is reported for the second case?? unga yaarukaachi ethunaavathu difference therinja sollunga ba..

And, the unwritten rule of our room is,if there is a possible rhyme, say it.
Everything above is about Klocworks and
everything below is about vxWorks.
(Forgot to add this. Say it, however mokkai the rhyme is.)

A trivia
The name VxWorks is believed to be a pun on the VRTX real-time operating system, at the time created by Ready Systems. In the early 1980s VRTX was a new product and did not work so well. Wind River acquired the rights to resell VRTX with an extension named VxWorks which was workable, so VxWorks most probably means VRTX now Works or VRTX that Works.

EKSI

btw - by the way
fyi - for your information
lol - laugh out loud
rotfl - roll on the floor laughing

I think all of you are aware of the above abbreviation. Is anyone aware of 'eksi'. First time when i read that in a movie forum a month ago, i totally had no clue what it is. I tried all possibilities that came to my mind. But nothing suited the context. The context is, a person made fun of one of the posts with a single line reply. The reply was the word eksi followed by a laughing smiley.

I went to the same forum today to see the review of diwali releases. This time, one punniyavaan had posted a reply with the expansion of eksi. eksi is nothing but "Enna Kodumai Saravanan Ithu"... coool...

After reading that, i couldn't resist searching for that video in youtube. Here is that masterpiece. Watch out the expression of prabhu. Awesome.. This guy sure has great comedy timing. Thalaivarum konjam over'atha react pannitaaru side'la ninnutu..Etho onnu, this scene has a great part in the suckcessful run of the movie in shanthi theater.
